First Association Committee Meeting 7th November, 1928 - Minutes.

City of Sheffield Police Force and Fire Brigade
“Old Comrades Association”

First meeting held at the Recreation Room Central Police Offices,
Castle Green at 11.00am on Wednesday 7th November 1928.

            Chairman – Captain P.J. Sillitoe, Chief Constable.

Rules

1.    The Association shall be called the City of Sheffield Police Force
       and Fire Brigade Old Comrades Association and hereinafter
       referred to as the Association.

2.    Objects of the Association

      (a) To foster the spirit of comradeship amongst ex-members and
      serving members of the City of Sheffield Police Force and Fire
      Brigade.

      (b) To arrange a general re-union of ex-members of the Force
      and serving members at least once a year.

      (c) To provide an annual Dinner or such other social functions
      for members of the Association.

Rule 3
         
      The members of the Associations shall consist of:
        
(a) Pensioners of the City of Sheffield Police Force and Fire Brigade.

(b) Ex-members of the City of Sheffield Police Force and Fire Brigade
     who served for a period of five years or over except those who
     were discharged for misconduct.

(c) A pensioner of any other Police Force who is resident in Sheffield
     shall be eligible to become an associate member on payment
     of the subscription set out hereafter.
 
     Provided that the Committee shall have the right to debar
     any man from joining or remaining a member of the Association
     should they consider him unsuitable as a member.

After listing the names of the Committee the minutes were signed by the Chairman.
