About Us

The pages of our site provide an overview of the Branches and their activities. Our Association was formed in 1919 to improve the pensions of retired officers in post World War One Britain.
Its terms of reference are:

‘To safeguard the rights of members and to promote measures for their welfare, with particular regard to pensions.’

Organised on the geographical areas within South Yorkshire, members of the Branches are retirees from the following Forces

Barnsley, Doncaster & Rotherham Boroughs,
Sheffield City Police
, Sheffield & Rotherham Constabulary,
West Riding Constabulary, West Yorkshire Police
and the South Yorkshire Police.

Unity in retirement ensures welfare provision, representation, social interaction and a means of communication.

Co-operation between the four Branch Executive Committees and a grant from the South Yorkshire Police Sports & Social Club Life Members Promotional Budget has enabled the development of this site, it is hoped that it will act as a catalyst to increase both Branch and inter-Branch activity; simultaneously contributing to a sense of social well-being.
